Named after the Roman god, Janus, who is depicted with two heads. The pets’ owners, Kyla and BJ King had a pregnant cat that gave birth to “Biscuit and Gravy” on their Oregon farm.
Most cats born with this disorder do not live past a single day. The longest living Janus cat is known as “Frank and Louie”, who lived past 15 years and died in 2014 The cat can be found in The Guinness Book of World Records as the longest living Janus cat.
The feline quickly gained popularity across the country after Kyla and BJ King shared the news online. King expressed that she was bottle feeding the cat personally, as it did not know how to feed with two heads. She continued to explain how the cat is not expected to live a long life although she was doingher best.
“It doesn’t really know how to nurse properly because it has two mouths so I’ve been trying to feed it. And, I mean, I’m going to do the best I can, but these animals don’t usually live too long.” King told reporters.
