Trump’s postal-vote tweet flagged by Twitter for being “misleading”. Twitter has hidden a tweet by Donald Trump for containing “misleading claims” that could “dissuade voters” ahead of the November election.
The US president tweeted on Sunday postal voting could encourage fraud and puts users at risk of contracting the coronavirus.
The tweet can be viewed behind a disclaimer that says it breaks rules around “civic and election integrity”.
Furthermore, users cannot “like”, reply to or retweet the content.
“So now the Democrats are using mail drop boxes, which are a voter-security disaster,” the president tweeted.
“Among other things, they make it possible for a person to vote multiple times.
“Also, who controls them? Are they placed in Republican or Democrat areas? They are not COVID sanitized – a big fraud.”
