A 19-year-old teenager is suffering life-threatening injuries after being stabbed inside the Auburn Mall on Friday, according to police.
The police are asking people to come forward with any information about the incident at Auburn Mall Friday evening.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early said in a briefing on Friday night that the suspect is being sought late Friday night by law enforcement.
“We’re very early in the stages of the investigation,” Early said.
The 19-year-old victim is in critical condition
Police received multiple calls at around 6:11 pm of a report of a stabbing in Auburn Mall. When police arrived they found the 19-year-old with multiple stab wounds, according to Police Chief Andrew Sluckis Jr.
The 19-year-old victim was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with life-threatening injuries. The victim is currently in critical condition, officials say.
The mall was closed and shoppers were forced to go home.

Another incident occurred a week earlier at South Shore Plaza where a 15-year-old girl was shot. Both malls are managed by Simon Property Group.
