Khabib Nurmagomedov’s agent refuted rumors of the UFC superstar retiring from fighting. He said the fighter needs time to recover from the recent death of his father.
Abdulmanap, Khabib’s dad, died earlier this month from COVID-19 related health issues. He died in Moscow after having been in an induced coma following a heart attack he suffered.

‘Some of the Russian media reported I said Khabib is retired. This is absolutely false,’ Abdelaziz wrote on social media on Saturday night. Also Read– UFC welterweight Mike Perry punched elderly man to the floor

‘It’s terrible,’ White said about Abdulmanap’s passing ahead of UFC 251 at Fight Island. ‘We feel horrible for Khabib and how much he loves his father and how close they were. ‘[We’re] just giving him time to mourn and do whatever he needs to do. We’re not bothering him at all right now. We’re just leaving him alone.’
