Royal expert says it's a 'very hard time' for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's relationship

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle have taken another step in distancing from the royal family. According to sources on Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have filed official documents to remove themselves from the Queen’s legal team at Harbottle & Lewis.

The news came as a shock because the royal family’s legal team have been serving Prince Harry since his teenage years. The decision appears to further validate that Harry and Meghan will not take-up their positions in the royal family as senior members.

The couple have no intention of returning to the royal family

“It would appear to demonstrate that they have no intention of coming back,” a courtier revealed. “The choice of lawyers is of great importance to the Royal Household and Gerrard was a useful neutral link man between the Sussexs and the Palace.”

The legal team, Harbottle & Lewis, engaged in work with the Sussexs’ non profit, Archewell along with serving the royal family. However, there has been a replacement in that category as well.

The new legal team of the Sussex non-profit is the “rival firm” Fieldfisher.

“They wanted to instruct their own lawyers, not those also used by the Royal Family. They are on an independent path,” as stated by a royal source to the Daily Mail.
