Large rockslide on Highway 95 south of Riggins

A massive rockslide has blocked Highway 95 south of Riggins, Idaho.

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office reported the slide at milepost 188 in the Sheep Creek area.

Highway 95 is now blocked between New Meadows and souch of the Riggins area. It is still unknown how long the road will be closed and there is no information as to when it will be cleared. 

If you’ve got plans for the Fourth of July and will be going on Highway 95 it would be best to change routes. There is no detour in the area to get around the blockage.
