Firefighters Killed in Oklahoma

Firefighters killed in Oklahoma house fire early Friday morning in the town of Waynoka. Two firefighters were among four people dead in the house fire.

Officials say a resident called 911 around 3:00 a.m., requesting emergency assistance. The family was trapped in the bedroom of a home near East Locust Street and Main Street.

According to officials, four victims, two residents and two Waynoka firefighters, were killed in the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The Waynoka Fire Department requested help from the Alva Fire Department after the Waynoka firefighters reported the front door was blocked, the fire marshals said.

The two firefighters went inside the home looking for residents when the roof collapsed, said Les Washnock, the fire and rescue chaplain for Pond Creek Fire and EMS, on social media.
