Currently, the two are separated, and “there are no prospects for reconciliation” according to the court documents.
The big news comes soon after Cardi made comments about how strong her relationship was. “I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything,” the “WAP” rapper told Elle, alluding to her husband’s alleged infidelity. “But there’s a lot of love, there’s a lot of passion, there’s a lot of trust, there’s a big friendship. It’s always us against the world.”
In December 2018, Cardi announced that she and the rapper were “not together anymore” and were parting ways.
“So everybody been bugging me and everything, and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now,” she explained in the lengthy clip at the time. “We’re really good friends, and you know we’re really good business partners, and you know, he’s always somebody that I run to to talk to and we got a lot of love for each other. But things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time.”
The couple later reconciled.
