SubFilm International Wins Rights to Advertising Movie

Los Angeles, CA – January 26, 2012 — IndieDaily announced today that SubFilm Intl. has won the international film rights to Michael O’Dea’s screenplay “Heavy,” which starts shooting this May in Boston. The script, which was originally commissioned by New Line Cinema in October of 2011, is based on the real-life story of Scott Heigelmann, the star CEO of maverick advertising agency Heavy Incorporated.

According to SubFilm, “Heavy” centers on the story of the controversial young entrepreneur struggling to keep his head above water and make his mark in the advertising world after the 2008 stock market collapse.

Heigelmann’s aggressive approach and inescapable media presence has earned him a great deal of both resentment and envy in the ad industry.
